Banksy’s “Destroy Capitalism„ is an ideal
reflection of the artist’s trajectory over the years
– his rise from counter-cultural street murals to major
auction houses – and reveals one of the bitter ironies
in his body of work, and indeed any artist or musician who
attempts to sell revolution.
Having first appeared at his Barely Legal exhibition in Los Angeles 2006, “Destroy Capitalism„ took on the guise of a poster print in a short run of 100. It soon became a highly sought-after item for fans, and now commands high prices at the secundary art market.
