First painted in 2005, Banksy’s Police Kids Jack and Jill shows two children running through water, wearing bullet proof vests with „POLICE“ written across the front. The children are in their pre-adolescence an innocent time of play and laughter, but also a time when children are starting to be more aware of the world and life has started changing for them. They still need protection, hence the bulletproof vests. The children look happy while running through the water, which is only indicated around their ankles. Childhood looks good, but it has its own mire that too many adults do not acknowledge.
